How to get a bunch of DUIs all at once

I see a lot of DUI cases with multiple charges of DUI from one incident. In Florida, that is a very easy situation to be in. I had a client come in today with four DUIs, not previous arrests or over a period of time, but four DUIs form one incident. This client has never been arrested before.

A standard DUI is when you are arrested for driving with a blood alcohol content in excess of .08%, which is one DUI. Let’s say you are involved in an accident where you hit three parked cars, that is three more DUIs. Then you hit a fourth car that was stopped in front of you and someone in that car banged their head and needed a band-aide, that is another DUI. So in this one incident, you could rack up 5 DUIs. You will be charged with one count of DUI, three counts of DUI property damage, and one count of DUI bodily injury.

It can, of course, go further downhill, is you refuse to blow into the machine, they will add another criminal charge. If the injuries to another person are more serious you will face more DUI charges.

As you can see, a DUI case can easily become a nightmare. The best thing to do is not to drive if you have anything to drink. It is really easy to reach the level of impairment in Florida. It is best not to risk it and take an Uber or taxi.

DUI defense is a very specialized area, make sure you have a great Miami DUI lawyer. When I was a Miami Dade Police Officer, I taught officers DUI procedures, arrests, and courtroom testimony.

Another thing to consider is a DUI arrest will cost you a bundle in attorney’s fees, fines, court costs, classes, tests, insurance premiums, not to mention a lot of your time, stress, and energy. Of course, the more complex the case the more expensive it will be.

I explain complex legal terms and concepts in ordinary language. I present Domestic violence concepts, family law terms, and criminal defense tips to help you navigate the Florida legal system.
