Welcome to Super Bowl 54! Welcome to my City! Welcome to Miami!
On the eve of Super Bowl 54, I would like to welcome you to my City. Here are a few things you might not know about the Super Bowl in Miami. The stadium is about 15-20 miles from the actual City of Miami and famed South Beach. It is nowhere near the water. The nearest beach is about 30 minutes away. The stadium is in one of the most crime-infested parts of our county. All the beautiful pictures you see during the game are well aways from the area around the stadium. Our robbers love to target tourists. One of the more popular crimes is to drug tourists in bars, take them to their hotel rooms, and steal everything they have.
For about a one square mile area around the stadium, there will be a significant police presence. The areas you have to travel through to get to the stadium area, are well less than photographs, to say the least. You will be safe at the game. You should be fine going to the game so long as you do not get lost. Stay on the major roadways and you will be fine. Traffic here is always bad and is really bad during events. Give yourself plenty of time.
